Peter Obi Launches Digital ID Cards and Registration for Obidient Movement

Peter Obi Launches Digitaleter Obi, former presidential candidate of the Labour Party, has introduced a digital identity card system and an online registration portal for his Obidient Movement. The initiative is aimed at uniting supporters both within Nigeria and in the diaspora under a more structured and verifiable platform.
In a joint statement released by the movement’s National Coordinator, Dr. Yunusa Tanko, and the Director of Strategic Communications and Media, Nana Kazaure, the new ID cards were presented as a way to strengthen the community and ensure transparency among members.
Each ID card comes with a QR code for real-time verification and features a national flag representing the holder's country of residence. For instance, a Nigerian living in Canada will have the Canadian flag displayed on their card. This thoughtful detail highlights the global reach and inclusive spirit of the movement.
A unique identifier, “OBX,” appears on every card, whether issued in Nigeria or abroad. This universal prefix, along with the scannable QR code at the bottom right, offers a secure way for members to confirm each other's authenticity. By scanning the code with any smartphone, users can verify someone’s membership and identity on the spot.
The system isn’t just about identification—it’s about building trust. Whether Obidients want to collaborate, do business, or organize activities, they now have a reliable method to confirm who they’re dealing with. According to the statement, this move reflects the movement’s values of unity, diversity, and mutual support.
In short, Peter Obi’s latest step gives the Obidient Movement a digital backbone, reinforcing its growing influence at home and abroad.
