Oshiomhole Planning to Kill My Father –Albert Obazee

Former Edo State governor and APC senator, Adams Oshiomhole, has been embroiled in controversy following serious allegations made by an online critic. Albert Obazee, a known critic of the APC and the current Edo State administration led by Governor Monday Okpebholo, alleged that Oshiomhole and some well-known thugs in Benin have hatched a plan to kill his father in Nigeria.

Obazee, who currently resides in the United Kingdom, made the allegations on his Facebook page on February 20. He claimed to have received the intel from an APC insider, suggesting that the plan was set in motion shortly after Oshiomhole completed an interview with Independent Television (ITV) in Edo State.

Controversy Over ITV Interview

The controversy began when Oshiomhole granted an interview with ITV, which many saw as an unusual move. The former governor faced heavy criticism for allegedly speaking on behalf of the current governor, who had just completed his first 100 days in office. Critics, including Obazee, questioned why Governor Okpebholo did not conduct the interview himself.

Obazee argued that the interview reflected poorly on the governor, claiming, *“The governor can’t talk, and he’s not bold enough to speak in public, so he had to send Oshiomhole.”* This sentiment was echoed by many social media users, who called the interview an embarrassment.

However, supporters of Oshiomhole dismissed these claims, insisting that the senator was not representing the governor. According to sources close to Oshiomhole, he was speaking in his personal capacity and had no official business with the governor regarding the interview.

Allegations of Threats and Intimidation

Following the interview, Obazee made a series of explosive claims, alleging that Oshiomhole was furious over his online criticisms and had orchestrated a plan to target his family in Nigeria. He said, “Now you have allegedly masterminded plans to finish my family. But when you were NLC president during Obasanjo, nobody tried to kill your mother. So now opposition cannot talk because you people are in power, right? Try it, I will not stop talking. I dare you, try it.”

In addition to the alleged death threat, Obazee accused Tony Kabaka, a well-known figure in Edo State, of planning to demolish his house in Benin.

Oshiomhole’s Camp Dismisses Allegations

Attempts to reach Oshiomhole for comments were unsuccessful, as his phone line was reportedly unreachable. However, an APC insider, Best Ekosodu, who is a former ward chairman of the party in Egor Local Government, dismissed Obazee’s allegations as “childish and baseless.”

Speaking to News Target, Ekosodu said, “Albert is a friend of former governor Godwin Obaseki. He is only making these claims to gain the attention of his former boss, show loyalty, and gather sympathy from his online supporters. Oshiomhole is too big for this and has dedicated most of his time to delivering good leadership to his constituents.”

Political Landscape in Edo

The incident adds to the already charged political atmosphere in Edo State. Oshiomhole remains a significant political figure in the state, and his involvement in any political discourse attracts both support and criticism. Meanwhile, Governor Okpebholo’s administration continues to face scrutiny from both opposition figures and members of the ruling party.

As tensions rise, many political observers will be watching closely to see how these allegations unfold and whether Oshiomhole or the APC leadership will issue an official response.
