• If you’re just starting out as a vendor, content creator, or in any new venture…

Let me share a bit of my own story from when I launched the Katebu brand. I want to talk to you this morning about persistence and the journey ahead.

Trust me, there will come a day when you’ll look back and smile—if you don’t let anyone or anything push you into giving up.

When I first started, there were stretches of up to two weeks with zero inquiries. I’m talking no inquiries, not even a single sale. And remember, sales come from inquiries, so you can imagine how tough it felt. Did I get tired? Yes, absolutely. Did I want to quit? Never. Because I knew I had to count "one" before I could count "two."

One of the hardest parts? Watching more established vendors celebrating sold-out items while you wonder when it will be your turn. You’ll ask yourself, “When will I get there?” But trust me, if you stay the course, keep grinding, and stay consistent, you’ll not only get there—you’ll surpass them.

It’s okay to feel tired, discouraged, or even want to give up. But quitting is never an option, and it should never even cross your mind. What’s ahead of you is worth every bit of effort.

Wishing you all the best on your journey! Keep pushing forward.

  • The argument isn't whether Wizkid is big or not.
    He's obviously Wizkid.
So if you deviate from the point I'm about to make, I fit wooze you.

It's about time he reconnects with his core audience.
    Bring it home.

The Genevieve-like attitude isn't helping matters.
Your being stuck up, aloof, and acting like you don't give a damn isn't translating to hit songs.

I don't remember the last time Wizkid released a song that caused mayhem in the streets.

Dey do face like you don't remember this man in his prime.
Whatever he did in a music video people emulated it.

Whatever he sang was on the lips of everybody.

Then, the Wizkid mania birthed many artists with the 'Wiz' thing.

That's the man the local audience resonated with.

Unfortunately, he doesn't have that effect anymore.

All the songs off Morayo album went cold faster than akamu on a plate.

I know one time I did say he was the most experimental artist among the big 3, but the music is going off the rails.

I don't care the numbers 'Morayo' album did on the charts or in sales, that sh!t didn't penetrate the masses.

    Come home man.
That seems like the most reasonable thing to do at this point and a way to extend your appeal a little longer.

Naso e go dey form ayam bigger than you people.

Like play like play, the likes of Omah Lay will unseat him.

Nwoke mba mmri has the youth and cute boy thing to his advantage, which was you (Wizkid) some years back.

E dey do like slow poison, but he's coming strong like a tornado.

Whoever believed he could hold his own against the Oba of bangers, Davido, on a record?
OBO whose fan base dwarfs his own...

It's a reflection of the gradual shift taking place on the local music scene.

People are starting to look beyond ghenghen names, they want gbedu.

Nobody has time to wait for Wizkid to snap out of his grandiosity.
The people want the type of songs they've been missing from ya (Soco, Fever, Daddy Yo).

You dey there dey sing big man r&b wey no get head.

    People's feelings are showing.
Look at the reactions to the 'Gimme Dat' song with Ayra Starr.

It's been mostly negative, and that has been the case since he lost his mojo.

Like it or not, Tems contributed greatly to the appeal 'Essence' had, especially in the international community.

The worst mistake he'll make is doing another westernised project and collabs with unknown US artists wey no get ginger. That'll be the nail in the coffin.

    So Ayo, come home.
Comot eye from Grammy and collab more with dem boyz for area.

Check if Samklef still has some unreleased stuff in the vault. Go back to that sound, it's still fresh.

Wizkid FC can only push a vehicle without fuel for so long.

  • In early January 2025, a tragic incident occurred in Schio, Vicenza, Italy, where a 36-year-old Nigerian woman, Queen Enabuele, was arrested for the alleged murder of her 32-year-old Nigerian boyfriend, Kelly Egbon. (RAI NEWS)

The event unfolded on January 6th in their shared apartment located in the historic center of Schio. Neighbors alerted authorities after hearing a heated argument between the couple. Upon arrival, the police discovered Egbon's lifeless body, with a fatal wound to his left femoral artery, leading to his death from excessive blood loss. (ADNKRONOS)

Initially, Enabuele claimed that Egbon's death was accidental, suggesting he had fallen onto a glass table, causing the fatal injury. However, inconsistencies in her account and forensic evidence led to further questioning, during which she confessed to stabbing Egbon. She alleged that the act was in self-defense during a violent altercation, stating that Egbon, inebriated at the time, had assaulted her and threatened her with a knife. In the ensuing struggle, she managed to seize the weapon and inflicted the fatal wound. (RAI NEWS)

Following her confession, Enabuele was taken into custody and is currently held at the Montorio prison in Verona, awaiting further legal proceedings. The case has garnered significant attention, shedding light on issues of domestic violence within immigrant communities in Italy.

This tragic event underscores the critical importance of addressing domestic violence and ensuring that support systems are accessible to all individuals, regardless of gender or nationality. If you or someone you know is experiencing domestic violence, it's imperative to seek help immediately. In Italy, the national domestic violence helpline is available at 1522, offering support in multiple languages.

Dear Nigerian Men in Diaspora, we advocate for women so often but it is important to note that Domestic Violence can happen against both genders. Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, not weakness. Shame should never replace a life lost. By reaching out to these organizations or local authorities, victims can access the support they need to protect themselves and begin the journey toward healing.
